2024 Workshops and tutors

Workshops will run Friday evening, Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.

Joan Ruane (USA)

Joining us for our 2024 Camp we have Joan Ruane, the ‘Queen of Cotton’, all the way from Tucson, USA. Joan brings to us her wealth of knowledge of all things hemp – a strong, durable, long-lasting, naturally soft fibre.

Charan Sachar (USA)

Charan Sachar is an inspirational art yarn spinner all the way from Washington, USA. Charan brings to us his creative passion for colour and textures. At camp you will be learning Charan’s fancy plying ‘Fishnet Yarn’ technique.

Pat Old (NZ)

Pat Old is well known throughout New Zealand as one of our most knowledgable and experienced spinners and teachers. She tutors the Creative Fibre NZ Handspinners Certificate, and has authored the book ‘In A Spin’. For this Camp Pat will be teaching her ‘Crimp, Spin, Ply’ class, sharing some technical knowledge that is sure to improve your spinning.

Emily De Rango (Aus)

Emily De Rango is fascinated by the interplay of fibre, yarn construction and cloth-making, and designing yarns that suit their intended purpose. Emily’s handspun yarn and garments have won a number of first prizes at the Australian Sheep and Wool Show. For Camp 2024, Emily will be teaching a class focussing on elasticised yarns.
